Those Who Remain In Me
John 15:5 “I am the vine, and you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will bear much fruit; for you can do nothing without me.”
This is one verse that do serve as a correctional verse for me. Whenever I feel like going down a wrong road cos of the fun it seem to promise, this verse do remind me of what will go with it and that it might even claim a large part of ones happiness.
Though, we are the ones the world sees and compliments, Jesus is our backbone that makes us strong enough to be able to stand upright. He is the one who’s glory reflects in us and without him, we can do nothing but through him and by him, we can do all things.
John 15:5-11 says “I am the vine, and you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will bear much fruit; for you can do nothing without me. Those who do not remain in me are thrown out like a branch and dry up; such branches are gathered up and thrown into the fire, where they are burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, then you will ask for anything you wish, and you shall have it. My Father’s glory is shown by your bearing much fruit; and in this way you become my disciples. I love you just as the Father loves me; remain in my love. If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father’s commands and remain in his love. “I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.”
This shows that we can have it all in this life (My Fathers glory is shown by your bearing much fruit) but only if we obey the commandments of God, hide under his care and allow his word to live I us.
PRAYER: Lord, I know that without you I can do nothing, so I invite you into all aspect of my life, take control of it all in Jesus name. Amen!
