The Friend Code

A Yoruba adage says “if two siblings should go into a room together and they come out smiling, then they are yet to tell themselves the truth”. This same saying goes for friends too ‘cos friends are the siblings you’ve got from another mother.

Friends are meant to watch each others back, tell themselves the truth even if it will hurt at the present moment. The good thing about doing right is not always for the immediate but for the future. Friends are meant to be our little earthly angels who are to guide us and see to it that we always strive to do the right thing at the right time at the right place and at the right proportion.

Proverbs 27:5-6 (GNT) says ”

Better to correct someone openly than to let him think you don’t care for him at all.  Friends mean well, even when they hurt you. But when an enemy puts his arm around your shoulder—watch out!”

Its important to be careful and watch out for enemies that come in friends clothing. They seem to always want to make us happy even at the expense of our doing good which will definitely affect our future but true friends will always stand to correct us in order to make our life better.

PRAYER: Thank you Lord for the friends you’ve brought my way, thank you for those still in my life, thank you for those who have walked away from me and thank you for those who I have walked away from. Any friendship that won’t lead me to my life purpose but will want to stand as an hindrance to my propose on earth, Lord please shut the door of my friendly gesture towards them so that our path may never cross in Jesus name.
