Are You A Slave?

Physically speaking, slavery seem to be a thing of the past but when it comes to the knowledge/ mental aspect, slavery seem to have found its place in this world.

True slavery is not defined by ones circumstances nor condition but by ones mental capacity and capability.
A man is said to be a product of his thought, which means that a man can be a king or queen if he can think it, likewise can a man be a slave if he can also think it.

I’ve come across so many blacks, especially Nigerians abroad who with their University degree and Masters degree still take up the so called ‘dirty jobs’ all because they believe/ think that no one will employ them in the white collar jobs all because they are black and Nigerian. I tell you, that’s nothing but a slave mentality.

Galatians 5:1 (GNT) says

“Freedom is what we have— Christ has set us free! Stand, then, as free people, and do not allow yourselves to become slaves again.”

Just as Israelites were slaves to the Egyptians in Egypt and got set free from their slavery through Moses, we were also slaves to sin but Christ died for our sins and set us free from sins that we may live a sin free life.

Freedom has been provided for us by God through Christ but a man is free to decide if he wants to be free or he wants to be a slave and one way to do this is by changing ones perception of ones self, including ones thought.

Don’t allow your situation nor your circumstances to define who you are. Situations and circumstances are but for a short while, don’t let them rob you of the joy of today.

Freedom starts from within, its inborn and its a product of the mind. I will encourage you all to always think positive and always think freedom cos only when you think it can you achieve it.
