“It is a difficult thing for someone to die for a righteous person. It may even be that someone might dare to die for a good person. But God has shown us how much he loves us—it was while we were still sinners that Christ died for us!” ~ Romans 5:7-8 (GNT)
Giving up part of what you have is difficult but more difficult is giving up all you have.
This is what God and Christ did for us.
God gave us his ONLY son in order to establish a link between him and man so that through the son, we will be able to get to the father and Christ gave up his life for us all (while we were yet sinners) so that by his blood, we can be put right with God.
Christ had a choice to either allow the cup to pass over him or to do the will of his father but for the love he has for us, he sacrificed his life for me and you so that we can be put right with God and through him we will be free from the hold of sin on our lives.
As we reflect on the death of Christ, I will like to encourage you to make good use of the opportunity this season presents by making up your mind to let your life be a reflection and an expression of the reason behind the death of Christ; the sinless sacrifice.
“Christ was without sin, but for our sake God made him share our sin in order that in union with him we might share the righteousness of God.”~ 2 Corinthians 5:21 (GNT)
Happy Good Friday and Happy Easter.
