Because of Our Sins
“But because of our sins he was wounded, beaten because of the evil we did. We are healed by the punishment he suffered, made whole by the blows he received.” ~ Isaiah 53:5 (GNT)
For some time now, I have been trying to see what easter really means to people and one thing that is common among all is that easter is a time for celebration, a time for happiness and a time to merry.
It is a good thing to be happy but it is important to know the reason for your happiness else it will be easy for someone else to come take the happiness away from you and this is one of the antics of the devil.
The devils plan is to make us treat easter like a holiday period which when gone, is over and we go back to our usual ‘world standard’ way of doing things.
If it was not to wash away our sins and reunite us with God, Christ would not have died the death of the cross. If it was not for Christ death, there will be no easter and if it was not for God’s love, he will not have given us his only son.
The lessons of easter are as great as easter itself ‘cos it was from that point in time that the broken bridge of mans relationship with God was amended as Christ became our direct link with his Father; Our Father who art in heaven.
The lessons learnt from easter and what easter meant to us all moving forward is that Christ was wounded because of your sins and my sins, Christ was beaten because of the evil we did and because of the punishment he suffered, we are healed and made whole by the blows Christ received.
‘Cos of easter, we are made a whole new creation through Christ, all our sins were washed away and our lost dignity and dominion over all things of the earth that was lost after Adam and Eve disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden were all restored back unto us.
All these are the benefits of Christ death which also include all other things we wish and hope for.
Remember that Christ death was to pave a way for us to seek God and enter his kingdom. Remember also that Christ told us that we should ‘seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all other things shall be added unto us‘ (Matthew 6:33)
Our sins brought about easter. Imagine an innocent man knowing that he is innocent yet laying down his life for a sinner so that the sinner can live.
Such is the story of me and you. Christ died for our sins so that we might live but in order to live this life Christ wants for you and enjoy all the benefits of easter, you have to accept Christ as your Lord and personal savior.
Our sins restricted us and made us a sinner. Our ‘hustle’ is made hard and difficult cos of our sins but if you accept Christ as your Lord and personal savior, through him you will get to the father and whatever you ask the Father, he will surely give you. (Matthew 21:22, Mark 11:24, John 14:13, John 15:16)
Father, I come to you today. I lay down my sins as I accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and personal saviour. I am a new creation in Christ, I am healed and made whole. Thank you Lord for the gift of life through your son, for washing away my sins and making me a new creation in Jesus name. Amen!
If you said this prayer, you are now a new creation, all your sins has been washed away. Go ahead and live in the newness of the spirit and a new mind.
If you have said this prayer, I will encourage you to get in touch with me by sending a mail (using the contact page) or comment on this post and let us together with Christ walk this new path of Joy and happiness together.
God bless you all.
