Be Alert, Be On Watch!
That the world celebrates gay marriages today is due to the fact that the Christians’ tolerates it.
This is a discussion point that most people do not want to get involved in, they do not want the world or their friends to label them as ‘disrespecting the right of others‘ forgetting that rights existed because there are limits to such rights.
Talking about rights, if the so called gays have been given the ‘Right to Life‘ and ‘Right to Live’ as a result of being born by the union of a man and a woman, how come they are depriving the unborn kids the right to life and live since we all know that a girl can not impregnate a girl and likewise, a man can not impregnate a man.
Yes! I know they can adopt but is adoption not training someone else’s kid as if he/she is theirs? Which does not hide the fact that the child is not truly theirs and does not override the obvious fact that the child came by as a result of the union of a man and a woman. What will then happen if we all decide to go in the way of gays? Where will the kids come from? Where will they get the kids to adopt?
If they have been given such a right (Right to Life and Right to Live), then why are there laws encouraging them to deprive others of such rights? Does this not count as being selfish? Does it not count as a corrupt practice? Does this not even stand against the moral principles by which some countries including the US that is championing the right of gays were built on?
Can a kingdom go against the laws of the King of that kingdom except it is ready to do away with the King?
Likewise, can ‘God’s own country‘ go against the laws of God except it turns away from God?
Remember that Jesus said;
“Anyone who is not for me is really against me; anyone who does not help me gather is really scattering” ~ Matthew 12:30
So are your actions and reactions helping Jesus gather or are you scattering?
PS: “Be alert, be on watch! Your enemy, the Devil, roams around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Be firm in your faith and resist him, because you know that other believers in all the world are going through the same kind of sufferings.” ~ 1Peter 5:8-9 (GNT)
Yes no one wants to be the person who is ‘disrespecting others right’ (and that includes me 🙂 ). We live in a society with lots of different people having different opinions. Not-so-right for one might be perfect for another, its only matter of choice.
Well written Tola.

Thanks Saneh.
It’s true that what’s ‘not-so-right for one might be perfect for another, its only a matter of choice’ but choices won’t make use decide to fill a hole with a hole or to lock a lock with a lock. We need a key to work with the lock so as to get the door locked, we also need to fill a hole with either debris, sand or pegs.
While growing up, I learnt that like poles repeal and unlike poles attract, it takes no choice, its got to do with nature.
I’m sorry to say this but don’t you think terrorism is also a choice and cos it doesn’t work for others it might work for some? But we all know that terrorism is wrong and should never be encouraged, that’s why we all stand up against terrorism not as a means of infringement of right but a way of telling those involved in it that it is not the way and it is not right.
The sole purpose of a marriage is to raise a family and keep the world growing, anything contrary to that should never be encouraged just as we do not encourage terrorism.
Standing up for what is right does not count as disrespecting the right of others.
Thanks again Saneh.

The sole purpose of marriage is not to raise kids. Even by Christian standards (judging by church weddings), raising kids come in number 3.
Not to take a side but to liken a love relationship between two consenting adults to terrorism is like comparing sex outside marriage to treason.

Thank you Seyi.
I never said the sole purpose of marriage is to raise kids, raising kids and raising a family are two different things, raising kids is part of raising a family.
God never put a rank/ priority to what marriage entails and saying its number 3 ‘judging by the church weddings’, have you forgotten about the Pharisees and the sadducees, the teachers of the law? Christianity to most people nowadays is going to church and having a bible (doesn’t matter if you read it or not) but the true meaning of Christianity is living the lifestyle of Christ.
Concerning, likening marriage to terrorism, I guess you missed something out there. If you read my previous comment again, then you will see that I was talking about a choice made that might work for one and not work for another.
But if you will say what I’ve written is like comparing sex outside marriage to treason, then talking about the law of the Lord, they are both sins with same consequences. They both can hinder one from entering into the kingdom of God and like you already know, a sin will always remain a sin, no matter the English nor word we use in making it sound to the ear.
